Valentine Villa is one of a small group of villas on Domaine de l'Akhdar that is available for exclusive rental just a short distance from the hub of activity that is the Marrakech medina - near enough to be within easy range for exploring it, and far enough away to settle down in your own peaceful haven. The villa consists of 3 double rooms each with an en-suite bathroom set within the 9 acres of olive groves that make up the ‘domaine', closed off from the outside world.

As well as a marvellous view of the Atlas Mountains (about an hour's drive away), Domaine de l'Akhdar offers a harmonious blend of holiday independence and the luxurious facilities and service provided by the villa's own staff. The private swimming pool is heated to extend the season, and has a typical Moroccan "kiosk" for privacy and a shady soak on a hot day. Shared facilities include a tennis court and pétanque field, plus guests can have a hammam arranged for them in the on-site spa.

There is a well-kitted out kitchen, covering a broad range of culinary necessities - utensils, 4-ring hob, oven, grill, microwave. However, this is not self-catered accommodation, as guests choose between half-board and fully-inclusive, the latter of which includes all meals and drinks except champagne. Each double bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom (2 with shower, 1 with bath) and two also have dressing rooms, and there is a daily housekeeping service. A lounge with fireplace has satellite TV, DVD player, and an iPod docking station. With its pergola, the central patio is a good place to sit out, and there is a barbecue at guests' disposal.

A free minibus service to and from the medina and shopping area every 2 hours between 10am and 8pm provides plentiful opportunity to venture into the action and delights of Marrakech's ancient city, whilst bookings can be made for you for restaurants and all manner of excursions; bookings for very local golf courses can also be arranged, with discounts on green fees. Everything is one level, making this a possible choice for wheelchair users. Note, although Valentine Villa is the one shown in the photos here, if this is not available you may get another villa on the domaine, with the same facilities and space.

Domaine de l'Akhdar is classified as luxury accommodation, and this is a very fair description. The photos speak for themselves. You won't want for much, with such comprehensive facilities, a tranquil environment, your own private space, and a dedicated small team of staff on hand to serve you.

Deposit:

A credit card number and a 10% non-refundable deposit are required to confirm a reservation. The balance is payable two months prior to arrival.

Cancellations:

Cancellations should be received in writing (e-mail) at least 12 weeks before scheduled arrival. For cancellations from 8 to 12 weeks, there is a charge of 20%, for 6 to 8 weeks the charge is 60% and for later cancellations or no-shows the full value of the booking is charged.
