It is a centuries-old home in a quiet part of that chaotic jumble of streets and alleyways that is the medina (the old city). Recently completely restored in the traditional manner using authentic building materials, Riad Ariha offers modern comfort combined with the peaceful ambience of a former age. The furnishings are simple yet elegant, emitting an atmosphere of harmony, simplicity and quiet relaxation.
The hotel is built around a courtyard with a central fountain. In one wall there is an Islamic pool, ideal for dipping in to cool off in the warmer months, and made into a sitting area when it is cooler. On the ground floor, the salon is a cosy place to sit and chat, especially in winter when the fire will be lit in the tadelakt fireplace. Up on the first floor is another space to relax, the loggia overlooking the courtyard. Then finally there is a roof terrace with a covered pergola, a Moroccan daybed, sunbeds and of course a great view out over all of the medina, with the Atlas mountains in the distance. There is free wi-fi internet access for guests throughout the hotel.
Riad Ariha has just 5 bedrooms, very individual, each with its own bathroom with shower. One bathroom also has a bath - a tadelakt bathtub beneath a dome where light filters through the glass stars. Very romantic.
Finally, there is the hammam, where guest can enjoy a hot steam bath, or just relax with a traditional massage with essential oils like argan, lavender, rosemary, lemontree oil, thyme, comfrey and eucalyptus. Other beauty treatments can be arranged.
Restaurant:
Home-cooked Moroccan meals (lunch and dinner) are available to order, made with fresh ingredients purchased from the market and prepared by the Moroccan staff. Meals (including breakfasts) are served in the salon, in the courtyard, in the loggia or on the roof terrace; just wherever the guests prefer.NEW In-house cookery classes:
Riad Ariha is pleased to announce that it is now offering Moroccan Cookery Classes to our guests.Due to popular demand and lots of compliments on the tasty food offered in our riad we have decided to offer Moroccan cookery classes to our clients.
Khadija, our cook, will show you how to prepare authentic Moroccan dishes, such as chicken tajin with pickled lemons, beef tajin with prunes and almonds, salads, and a Moroccan dessert. After the class you can then enjoy your freshly-prepared Moroccan meal in the peaceful courtyard or on the roof terrace.

What We Say:
Very charming, very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. From the Guestbook:
"The Riad was very comfortable, the weather perfect and Marrakech very atmospheric - we had a very relaxing stay."
"I was amazed by your beautiful riad and touched by your hospitality and kind, professional, efficient service.
I felt truly at home there. I've been lucky enough to stay at many, many hotels all over the world ranging from grotty English bed & breakfasts to very smart Indian Ocean hotels and I've never felt more welcome or comfortable. Not just the physical comfort of the rooms and courtyard but the fantastically relaxed feel of the place which never compromised the quality or discretion of the staff. The generous advice on offer in what is a baffling place for the first-time visitor was priceless and consistently reliable.
The food was the best I had in Morocco and to top it all, the place is has been beautifully restored in a classy, stylish way with pleasing attention to detail and is lovingly maintained."
