The eight guest rooms are spread over three floors, with each level having its own special reason for choosing a room there. The first floor has three rooms, dotted around the patio. The second floor holds another three, which open onto the terrace that is used for serving breakfast and as a good place for a spot of relaxation. On the top floor, the remaining two rooms lead out to the sun terrace. This terrace is one of three that are scattered around the hotel, providing plentiful opportunity to experience what Riad Asmitou itself describes as a hotel where "relaxation is the key word".
In addition to these terraces, there is a lounge ideal for taking a glass of wine by the fireplace before dinner, not to mention a place where you can choose one of the DVDs to watch on their TV or select a book to read from the collection there. Out on the patio, allow the staff to ply you with invigorating mint tea - a staple of Moroccan hospitality.
Another way to relax would be the yoga sessions that the riad offers, either on site, or out and about somewhere. In the evening, you can opt for a hammam followed by a massage with essential oils, again either at the riad, or sometimes in a special centre nearby. Riad Asmitou also has the services of a beautician who can give you a skin cleanse, manicure or pedicure.
For guests with particular culinary interests, be aware of the hotel's cookery workshop. Going to one of these sessions, all carried out in a jovial and engaging atmosphere, guests can prepare fresh fish purchased in the souk, a dromedary tajine or a vegetarian buffet. Then for those of an active disposition, Riad Asmitou is ready to offer advice on arranging all manner of activities: riding in the ocean-lined sand dunes, quad driving in the dunes and cedar woods, or sailing from nearby Sidi Kaouki and Moulay Bouzerktoun.

What We Say:
A relaxing hotel, but with plenty of activities within easy reach. From the Guestbook:
"Lovely staff, well located, delicious breakfast of pancakes, fresh bread, jam, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice."
"We really enjoyed our stay in Essaouira. This guest house is off one of the main streets in the medina, along a twisty alleyway. The owner and her staff were welcoming despite my poor grasp of French. It is well decorated, spotlessly clean and the furnishings and fittings are to a high standard."
