restored this old house, attaining a harmonious balance of traditional and contemporary styles.
During the restoration, artefacts were found deep under the patio- old silver money and guns. These were then donated to a national museum. It is within this historical setting that they have opened this house to the public. Nestling in the Sidi Ben Slimane ‘quartier’ (or district) of the medina, a stone’s throw from the renowned Dar Zellig restaurant, this can be an ideal base from which to explore the ancient city.
Comprising five bedrooms and a suite, decorated in subtle shades, Dar Vima’s guests can benefit from a lounge, a rooftop terrace with its Berber tent, and the serenity provided by the setting and staff.

What We Say:
Owner Marie and her daughter Virginie have brought an old riad back to life with great style. From the Guestbook:
"6 days in this magnificent riad which has been tastefully decorated by the architect owner and her mother who is a painter. Arriving at the riad for the first time is a bit surprising at the end of a maze of back streets which are a bit squalid, but not dangerous. What a joy when the door is opened to give way to a magical place. The rooms are very beautiful and in all kinds of monochrome shades. Thanks again to Najet and Rita for their kindness and their discretion and to our driver Hamid for his good humour."
"This is a place where you live the good life. A well-hidden haven of peace in the north of the medina, far away from the main bustle. You are welcomed with open arms and the owner Marie, and the young women who work in the riad are all there to care for you. Marie knows the town and its customs well, so don’t hesitate to ask her because she always has good advice. Meals are excellent and simple, as is breakfast, taken outside next to the lemon and orange trees. The well-cared for rooms are a pleasant place to stay. In addition to the ground floor, you can also take advantage of the public lounge on the first floor and the terrace. This is an excellent combination of quality and price."
"Comfortable bedrooms emit a calm and serenity. Long breakfasts on the terrace, a nice table for dinner- nothing but good quality, and Marie always presents everything well."
