Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Casablanca, The Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia- iconic films all, whether for their actors’ personas and quotes or the films’ epic storytelling and ability to reach a wide audience via narratives crafted with integrity. Their images have adorned the walls of many a bedroom in the form of posters for years. Heritage Marrakech Heritage Marrakech have gone a step further; the entire décor of each of their four guest rooms and three suites has been based on a classic film.

This means that Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart’s lovers gaze out from behind the bed, and antique Moroccan tourism framed posters embellish the walls of ‘Casablanca’, gaming greens and reds define ‘Casino’, an opulent life is conveyed with such touches as a picture framed television in ‘The Godfather’, and the siren that was Marilyn Monroe even gets her own suite.

These pieces of cinematic homage are found in a riad situated five minutes from the famous Djemaa El Fna square, near the plush Hivernage district with its nightclubs, casinos and restaurants, and run by an experienced hotel staff with many years as hoteliers and the international diplomas and accreditations to show for their professionalism.

The suites and executive suite have sitting areas, but for many, their room/suite selection will be based on the décor or film that means the most to them. It all adds to the fun, but this is no mere novelty hotel. It has a pool (not that many riads have), patio, solarium and terrace; Heritage Marrakech therefore features much of what you would expect from a traditional riad, but with that something extra in its design. Note from the photos that the film theme extends to the public areas of the hotel, with murals and small touches here and there, lending the place an almost museum-like feel.

The guest rooms and their bathrooms generate a sense of being pampered, with their six pillows, traditional Moroccan bathtub and shower, bathrobes and slippers. To go to Heritage Marrakech is to experience a balance of riad tradition, hotel professionalism and a themed sense of purpose.

Restaurant

The restaurant is proudly Moroccan and offers various specialities of the country upon request. Dinner is served, and there are also simple and fresh lunches, as well as a snack menu to choose from all day.

A Word From the Owner:

"Some films became masterpieces and to this day remain benchmarks in cinematic history. The actors, besides their performances and images, have stood out for generations, whether that be because of their famous lines or simply their personality. What’s more, at Héritage, we think that the hotel business goes well beyond the accommodation and restaurant: it is an atmosphere, an adventure, an experience to be lived. This is the reason why we pay tribute to these masterpieces by giving life to them by means of a décor ands atmosphere that is unique in Marrakech."

What We Say:

The attention to detail in the theming of the rooms is superb. More remarkable yet is the way these themes blend seamlessly with the Moroccan decor of the riad. First class!

From the Guestbook:

"All the help needed to move around the city, restaurants, trips, ... was gratefully given to us. The employees were super nice and spoke English, French and Arabic. The location of the Riad is one of the hit points, since it is just minutes' walk from anywhere, as well as a very safe area. Having breakfast at the Terrace is just breathtaking with all the views of the city and the Mamounia Hotel Gardens".

"The rooms are really fancy and well thought out, the service is excellent, the place is quiet, and the view of the garden is peaceful and quiet".
