Riad Honey opened in 2007 after a complete renovation and a partial rebuild. To stay there is to reside in authentic oriental surroundings, as much tender care and sensitivity has gone into designing the rooms. The stylish and unostentatious interiors are the result of traditional craft techniques and materials.

Small fountains and an abundance of greenery within the inner courtyard provide a lovely respite from the activity of the medina beyond the walls. Hosts Imelda and Lahcen are not just attentive to their guests, but have given the same attention to detail to the planning, design and decoration of their hotel. Oriental rugs, wrought-iron and wooden furniture, and low brass-topped tables have been thoughtfully used to create a special ambience. The roof terrace gives wonderful views over Marrakech and of the distant Atlas Mountains . Then by night it is lit by lanterns, which throw a romantic glow onto the ochre walls.

This is a classic little riad in the centre of Marrakech, with a central patio surrounded by arches and galleries that lead to the bedrooms. Each bedroom (choose from a double bed or twin beds) is stylishly traditional, kept comfortable by heating and air conditioning, and guests can keep in communication with the world outside via a wifi internet connection.

Both lunch and dinner are served on request, with tasty home cooking using Moroccan delicacies.
