months in order to create her guest house in this ideally secluded spot.
The ‘jardins’ (gardens) in question feature fragrant varieties of vines and olive, apricot, pomegranate and fig trees. A nearby 12 metre swimming pool provides a welcome cooling dip during the warmer months. Guests reside in five rooms and three suites that have each been individually decorated in their own warm and very traditional style. All rooms have comfy beds and heating (winter nights can be chilly), including fireplaces within the suites, whilst thick walls help keep them cool in summerwithout the need for air-conditioning. A living room with a fireplace looks out over the mountains, whilst the roof terrace offers a panoramic view all around the mountains and the palm groves.
Les Jardins de Skoura also has its own shop which sells crafts and Argan cosmetics. A range of activities can be organised through the hotel, such as donkey riding and picnics, trips to the Dadès and Draa Valley, and excursions in the surrounding countryside with a local English-speaking guide. This is a well-placed oasis from which to explore the astonishing sights of the area.

What We Say:
Les Jardins de Skoura conveniently lies on the route through the High Atlas from Marrakech to the edge of the desert. It's much more than just accommodation en-route though: it takes a few days at least to fully appreciate the delightful location, the charming hostess and the rugged beauty of the surroundings. From the Guestbook:
"The staff are very attentive and willing to please. The food was excellent, well spiced and well prepared. They made a special meal for my wife who is vegetarian. I would strongly consider staying here and was very sorry that I only chose to stay one night!!"
"We were charmed by this hotel. Everything was exactly right. The room was very clean and the decoration was lovely. The service was excellent and the owner helped so much to make the best of our visit. As well as all this, I have to mention the location: although a little difficult to get to, the palm grove is such a wonderful situation. And what we liked the most was to sit down and watch the sunset from the terrace. Impressive! "
