Refreshments are offered on arrival, allowing guests to start as they mean
to go on, that is to say to enjoy the friendly
hospitality alongside the traditional decor of a Marrakech dar.
There are four double bedrooms and one suite, with petals strewn over the beds on arrival. These are simply furnished but we would say elegant. An effort has been made to provide noteworthily comfortable beds. The crisp linen only adds to this. Furthermore, a room provided on the ground floor has been prepared to be suitable for disabled travellers.
Riads and dars are not usually enormous places, part of their charm residing in the nooks and crannies therein. Here, guests can choose to seat themselves in the bhou, or relax under the pergola whilst taking in the vista, or in the courtyard with its fine olive tree, dipping pool and open fireplace.
It is worth mentioning that there are good restaurants merely a few hundred metres from Dar Rocmarra, but of greater importance is the quality of the cooking in the hotel. Jamilla is an enthusiastic chef who gets great satisfaction as her guests sample her delights, and we can speak favourably of the flavours concocted.
Dar Rocmarra is just two minutes from the Dar El-Bacha taxi drop-off. French, Arabic, Spanish and English are all spoken.
