The Weather in Morocco

Many parts of Morocco look dry and parched, and indeed some parts are desert, but rain does still fall. And when it happens, it doesn't mess about! Rain storms can be short and sharp, and a cause of local flash flooding, but at least there are no interminable days of drizzle. As is evident below, winter and spring will bring some rain to most places, though the summer months are just about guaranteed free from rain.

No, that's not a mistake! It just doesn't rain in Morocco in July, and not much in June, August or September either. Throughout the summer months, a rainy day will be a very rare event.

Obviously winter rain is more prevalent along the coast, and towards the north. Although there are many fewer rainy days than in England, the actual total rainfall can often be greater. Virtually all the time that it's not actually raining, the sun will be shining.
